The Nursery: The Trinity Nursery offers a safe and loving place for our youngest parishioners, serving children from infancy through pre-school. Older children who wish to attend Children's Chapel will be escorted upstairs by one of the nursery caregivers. Also, those children who attend the Pre-K, K Sunday School class may also be brought to their classrooms during the education hour. It is a common practice for parents/guardians to bring their nursery-aged children into the sanctuary for The Eucharist. We invite you to do the same, as Trinity is a community that is open to all!
Children's Chapel: Geared for children ages 4-9, Children's Chapel is offered during the 9 a.m. service. During the singing of the sequence hymn (after the second reading), the children's chapel leader will process down the sanctuary aisle as an invitation for children to join participate in chapel. The group will then be escorted upstairs to the educational wing and participate in an age-appropriate chapel service, which includes the reading of the day's Gospel lesson, a children's "homily"/discussion, and prayers. Children return to the service in the sanctuary at The Peace.
Worship Bags: All children are welcome during worship at Trinity! Sometimes, though, parents feel too preoccupied with their child's squirms, whispers, or questions. Therefore, Trinity provides Worship Bags for children (and parents) who need a little encouragement during the service. In these bags are books, crayons, activity books, etc. which provide some entertainment for the children and some peace of mind for their parents. If you would like a worship bag, please ask an usher for assistance.
Sunday School: Sunday School begins at 10.20 and ends at 11.10. We ask that you escort younger children to their classrooms. Snack is provided (the same snack that is offered during Forum/Coffee Hour) upstairs for all children in their classrooms. Pre-K, K class (Sinai Room): Tamara Hallett, Kyra Kramer, Heather Lake 1st-3rd class (Ascension Room): Alex May, Susan Kinzer, Deacon Connie Pepplar 4th-6th class (Ararat Room): Cynthia Brabson, Kimberly Hurley, Margaret Jones 7th-12th class (Harvest Room): Susan Siena, Ben Brabson, Jessie Gutgsell
Youth: There is both a youth Sunday School class and a youth group. Sunday School is for youth in grades 7-12, while the youth group is open to 6th-12th graders. The youth group meets once a month for food, fun and fellowship. Additionally, the youth group participates in service-learning projects, retreats, ecumenical activities with other area youth groups, and intergenerational faith formation. More specifics regarding the year's calendar will be available at the beginning of September.
