Trinity Outreach Commission follows Christ’s teaching by serving the needs of marginalized and under-served people. Outreach provides opportunity and inspiration for Trinity parishioners to do the same.
Compassionately reaching out to others to be the hands, heart and feet of Christ in a spirit of love, welcome and peace, Trinity attempts to serve both locally and internationally as projects may arise. Trinity has had commitments to support these various entities both financially and in-kind as Trinity is able.
Outreach meetings are held the last Thursday of the month in the Trinity Library at 5:30pm and generally last about 1 1/2 hours. For additional information please contact Rev. Connie Peppler at conniepeppler@gmail.com or Jim Skomp at jimkim52@hotmail.com
Designated funds for different non-profit entities, local and international take up the bulk of the Outreach Commission budget.
Trinity joins with the Salvation Army and other churches to collect school supplies for students in the Monroe County school system.
Trinity members donate food to be distributed quarterly to four different entities: Pathways (Monroe County United Ministries), Groceries-to-Go for senior citizens, Pantry 279, a local food distribution center, and Bobbie’s Pantry through the township trustee.
Parishioners participate individually in the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program.
Trinity also began participating in a new outreach to the Hispanic community for Christmas in 2025. Trinity coordinates gift-giving from community members to Hispanic children. Trinity’s first-time collaboration distributed gifts to over 70 children.
Trinity periodically collaborates with several churches and the community to organize a winter wear collection for free distribution to anyone needing a coat, men, women and children. Other entities also provide coats for children.
Parishioners supply teen gift card gifts at Christmas, blankets for infants at Easter, and contribute to United Thank Offering one to two times yearly.
Collaborating with another church, Trinity also helps collect items for Easter baskets.
Non-pledge offerings on the first Sunday of each month go to the Discretionary Fund. These funds are distributed through appointments for assistance with rent deposits, partial rent payment, utilities, and medications. Designated contributions at other times are always greatly appreciated.
