The Parish Life Committee nurtures the fellowship, hospitality, and belonging that make Trinity a true community of faith — planning the gatherings, meals, and events that bring us together beyond Sunday worship. Every person who walks through our doors should find not just a church, but a family.
Parish Life runs on volunteers — and there’s always room for more hands and new ideas. Whether you love planning events, setting up and cleaning up, cooking for a crowd, or just want to help make newcomers feel at home, we’d love to have you. No experience necessary — just a willingness to pitch in and have fun.

Volunteers from Trinity, Canterbury House, and Bloomington’s Trinity Haven team gathered for Pridefest on Saturday, August 22, where we joined thousands of attendees celebrating the day. We got to share our message that everyone is welcome at Trinity as well as plenty of good cheer! Our prize wheel was a big draw, bringing people over to win swag or find conversation, information, glitter blessings, and more. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day a success!
Trinity’s Great Hall was buzzing with laughter, strategy, and a little friendly trash talk last Friday night, as parishioners gathered for a multigenerational Game Night. About 20 people, from teens to seniors, pulled up chairs to tables loaded with Azul, Rummikub, Saboteur, UNO, and Sequence, with snacks fueling the fun.
Whether it was building colorful mosaics in Azul, sabotaging fellow miners, or throwing down a well-timed UNO reverse, there was something for every kind of game lover. But the real win of the night was the mix of generations at every table – grandparents and teenagers matching wits, trading strategies, and getting to know each other over a shared love of games.

Trinity’s parish hall came alive Friday July 26, 2026 for an evening of contra dancing and good food. About 30 people — parishioners and several newcomers who’d heard about the dance — gathered for a potluck at 6:00, followed by dancing at 7:00 with caller Kyla and local band Bloomingtunes. No one came as an expert, and it showed — in the best way, with plenty of laughter as dancers got turned around mid-figure and found their way back with help from their neighbors. Special thanks to Mother Virginia, Parish Life, and the Sabbatical Team who helped organize the evening, and to everyone who came out to make it such a joyful night.
The Parish Life Committee is bringing back Dinners for Eight this fall — small group dinners that pair up parishioners for an evening of good food and conversation, hosted in homes around the community.
We’re in the early planning stages, and we need a volunteer to organize this event. If you enjoy bringing people together and have a knack for logistics (matching up groups, coordinating dates, keeping things moving), this could be a great fit for you.
Once an organizer is in place, we’ll be looking for both hosts and guests to take part — so keep an eye out for more details this fall.
